A wonderful new read-along experience that will engage and entertain kids of all ages has arrived at Barrie Public Library!
Wonderbooks are regular print books that come with a ready-to-play audiobook inside, giving a whole new generation the read-along experience. Wonderbooks offer independent book enjoyment for all ages, including non-readers or those who are learning English. They're great for at home or on the go, or can be used solo or as a shared experience with others.
Each Wonderbook has two modes - a read-along mode and a learning mode that the user can toggle between. You can have the story read to you, and then talk about the book following prompts within learning mode.
Barrie Public Library is starting our Wonderbook exploration with just picture books at this time. There are currently 74 unique titles available at this time, and more titles will be added to BPL's collection each quarter. All BPL locations have Wonderbooks.
Wonderbooks have a loan period of three weeks, just like regular books, and can be placed on hold. They can also renewed provided there are no existing holds on the item. There is a limit of two Wonderbooks checked out per account at a time.
