June is Seniors Month in Ontario. The theme for 2024 is Working for Seniors - a time to recognize the hard work seniors have done all their lives to make Ontario into the great place it is today.

We've got lots on the go this June, including great programs, crafts and activities!

Seniors Month Program Specials

Seniors Fair in Collaboration with Barrie Senior Services Network
Painswick
- Monday, June 24, from 10am - 12pm
Learn about senior services provided by community groups in Barrie and surrounding areas.

Conversations on the Green Bench
Painswick - Tuesday, June 25, from 10am - 2pm
You are invited to sit and chat with residents from Coleman Care Centre on the symbolic green bench inside the library. This event is part of the #ElderWisdom campaign, a heartfelt initiative aimed at bridging generations and fostering meaningful conversations within our community.

Music on the Rooftop
Downtown - Tuesdays, June 6, 20 & 27, from 6:30-7:30pm
Relax and unwind while enjoying the easy sounds of artists from the Barrie Folk Society on our beautiful rooftop Reading Garden. If the weather doesn't cooperate, the performance will move inside.

Games & Puzzles Afternoon
Holly - Saturdays, June 1, 8 & 15, from 2 - 4pm
All ages can drop by for a weekend afternoon get-together. Grab a table, a puzzle, or try a new board game!

English Conversation Circle
Downtown - Saturdays, June 1 - June 22, from 11am - 12pm
Holly - Mondays, June 3 & 10, from 7 - 8pm
Practice English, meet new friends, and learn more about life and culture in Canada. Challenge yourself to build your speaking confidence!

Connect and Create 
Holly - Mondays in June, from 1:30 - 2:30pm
Pop into the Holly location, where staff have set aside an activity for you to enjoy. Come on your own or with a group of friends to create and connect with others.

Mahjong Meetup - Experienced Players
Wednesdays in June from 1 - 4pm
Drop in to play American Mahjong at the library! For experienced players.
