It's time to stock up on summer reads and support your local library at the same time!

The Barrie Public Library is thrilled to announce the return of our BIG Spring Book Sale taking place Friday, May 23 to Sunday, May 25, 2025, at the Downtown Library. Powered by our incredible volunteers, this third annual event has become a community favourite, and raised $5,313.75 last year alone!

Whether you're looking for your next beach read, a great movie night pick, or something crafty to dive into, you’ll find gently-used books, magazines, CDs, DVDs, video games, and more, all at unbeatable prices. Bring your own bag, or grab a reusable BPL tote for just $2. Payment options include cash or debit.

All proceeds from the sale will support the growth of the library's Creative Spaces, which give our community free access to creative tools like Cricut Makers, 3D printers, sewing machines, and mug presses.

"Creative Spaces gives patrons of all ages a chance to try something new, share ideas, and bring their imagination to life," says Luke McKee, Manager, Downtown Library and Connections. "With the proceeds from this year’s sale, our staff are ready to grow this space and support even more hands-on learning and creativity.”
