For the month of December, Barrie Public Library is hosting a food drive to support the Barrie Food Bank. The need in our community is greater than ever, and the food bank is experiencing historically high demand.
Food collection bins are available at all three Barrie Public Library branch locations for visitors and staff to deposit non-perishable food items. The library's goal is to collect 2000 pounds of food - or the equivalent of 10 full shopping carts.
While donations of all kinds are appreciated, some of the food banks most needed items include:
- canned meats (ham, turkey, chicken)
- baby formula
- large size diapers (size 4, 5, 6 and pull-ups)
- canned fish (tuna, sardines)
- children's lunch snacks
- protein shakes
- juice boxes
- toiletries
- incontinence products
- beef jerky
- soap and shampoo
- feminine products
The drive will run until January 6th. Thank you for helping Barrie Public Library to support our community!
