This fall the Barrie Public Library is happy to open our doors to a selection of children’s programs at the new Holly Community Library! Check out the details below for the cool October events in store for you and the kids.

Our Play, Learn, Grow program offers STEAM-based learning in a fun, interactive environment, geared to toddlers and preschoolers. Play, Learn, Grow runs every Monday in October from 10 to 11am and provides engaging activities that enhance early literacy and development.

Who says you can’t wear your PJ’s to the Library? Not us! Especially on Wednesdays at Holly when we offer Bedtime Tales from 7-7:30pm. Bring your favourite stuffed animal and wear something comfy as we snuggle up for some bedtime stories in the kids area.

Fridays are all about the babies at Holly, when we welcome them to our Baby Goose program from 2:30-3:30pm! This one is geared especially to the under 12-month-old crowd and their grownup. Songs, rhymes and a story will help your little one with pre-literacy skills and we’ve built in a social time for the grownups and wee ones to chat and play afterward.

And October would definitely not be complete without celebrating some spookiness! In honour of Bat Week celebration through the city, our Holly location is hosting a Spooky Special on October 29, from 2:30-3:30pm. Let’s get together for a spooky craft or activity - costumes are encouraged!

A reminder that our programs are drop-in; all are welcome, but our space is limited. Free tickets are available 30 minutes prior to the program on a first-come, first-served basis. Strollers not allowed in the program space. Children must be accompanied by a caregiver.
