BPL on the GO kiosk - grand opening

The Barrie Public Library strives to reduce barriers and bring convenient library services to our community in unique ways. Our latest addition is BPL on the GO kiosks, which are like vending machines full of books!

The kiosks are located at the East Bayfield Community Centre just inside the main entrance off Stanley Street, and at the Allandale Recreation Centre up the ramp towards the gym. Our staff restock the kiosks weekly with popular adult, teen and children’s books. Check out some books to bring home with you, or just to read while you’re there with your family!

Using our BPL on the GO kiosks is easy.

How to Borrow

Simply scan your library card and enter your PIN, open up the door, and take out the books you’d like to borrow. When you close the door, the kiosk scans the shelves and determines what books are missing, then checks these out to your card. The screen will list the items you have borrowed.

How to Return

You can return items you’ve borrowed to the kiosk or to any Barrie Public Library location. Scan your library card and enter your PIN, open the door, and put your items on the shelf. Once you close the door, it will scan the shelves and see what is new, then check these back in.
