If you’ve ever wanted to work or volunteer for the library, now is your chance! The Barrie Public Library is growing and we are looking to fill several Page positions across our 3-branch system.

Pages are responsible for tasks including pulling holds, maintaining the shelving, filling displays, program set-up, and ensuring public spaces are tidy. Learn more about these positions and apply in person at our first ever BPL Job Fairs this June:

Barrie Public Library Job Fairs details:

  • Dates: Wednesday, June 1, from 4 – 7pm
                Saturday, June 11, from 10am – 1pm
  • Location: Downtown Library, 60 Worsley Street

Those interested in applying should bring an up-to-date resumé and contact information for three employment references. We will be offering on-the-spot interviews on a first-come, first-served basis.

Volunteer Fair

During the Job Fairs, we will also be interviewing prospective volunteers for library positions and our Barrie Dragon Boat Festival in August. Volunteering with the library is a great opportunity to have fun and get community service hours while having a positive impact on your community.

Volunteer positions we’re looking to fill include:

  • Summer Reading Club Outreach Assistants
  • Children's Program Assistants
  • Barrie Dragon Boat Festival Event Support
