Library Reopening

We are thrilled to welcome everyone back to the library! Both locations are open for browsing, borrowing, computer use, bookable spaces and more Services including self-serve printing and Wi-Fi.

Place holds online and drop in to pick up your items in person, or schedule an Express Pick-Up appointment for low contact curbside pick-up. 

On Monday, November 23, the Simcoe Muskoka region was placed in the Orange - Restrict zone for COVID-19 precautions. The following additional measures are in place to ensure the health and safety of patrons and staff:

  • There is a maximum of 50 patrons in the building at one time
  • A COVID screening questionnaire must be completed by everyone upon entry
  • To allow for contact tracing, staff will be collecting the name and email address/phone number of every person that enters the buildings

Request & Pick Up Items

Browse our catalogue, select the items you'd like to borrow and your pickup location. You will be notified, by email, text or phone, when your item(s) are ready, depending on your account preferences.

When you receive notification, drop in to pick up your items in person or schedule an appointment for low contact Express Pick Up.

Safe Spaces

We've designed our reopening services and spaces to be low contact so staff and the community remain safe.  To help everyone stay safe, please:

  • Wear a face covering
  • Clean your hands with soap and water or hand sanitizer
  • Maintain 2m physical distance
  • Follow directional signs
  • Minimize contact with items while browsing
  • Limit your stay to under 60 minutes
  • No social gatherings



Returns are accepted 24/7 through our outdoor return slots. Returned items are quarantined before check in and they may appear on your account for up to 7 days. You may receive overdue notices during quarantine and any replacement costs charged to your account will be removed when the items are checked in.

Late Fines & Fees

Effective July 1, 2020, late fines will no longer be charged for items returned after the due date. Please note that replacement costs still apply for material that is damaged or is 21 days overdue. 

Any outstanding fees on your account can be paid online through Smart Pay.
